soul searching
when so blue of lonely feelings
i ask myself in what i'm dealing.
a star, a moon, a sun, a planet
i give myself to whom demands it.
to outer space and exploration
of advanced souls and constellations.
never falling away too deeply
so that i may keep myself completely.

Ugh
I am sitting here, with a headache, because I have been studying math too damn long! Finals have been going on all week, and I failed the first try of my math exam. ;( I have to take it again tomorrow and get an 80% or I have to retake the class. So, you can imagine how I am stressed at this moment. Along with that, I want to move out of where i'm at, and there is a place opening up at the end of May / beginning of June. I really want to check it out, it's close to where I want to be and with some really cool girls. I just wonder if I will have the money? I work at Domino's and get financial aid, but I am not sure that is enough. I need more hours. If I fail this class though, my Summer schedule will suck and I won't have time! Ughhh. Why do things have to be so complicated? My mom wants me to see her and I am not going to drive that far. I only get a week off, then it's back to the drawing board. Literally. I also miss my friends, and I want to hangout and relax. I am getting slightly stir-crazy being cooped up in my room for so long, hunched over a text book and a computer. Well, anyway. Enough of that. Sorry, I had to rant a little bit, but on a lighter note...

the clown
Final Exams are kicking my ass at school, so here is something I found on the internet that is pretty bizarre. I like the cinematography, and at the very least, the introduction to the film is amusing. Check it out if you have 11 minutes to spare.

love new music
I have been on this kick lately of discovering new music since I am stuck here at the computer due to finals week next week. I am studying hard for three tests and I have homework on top of that! Blehh.. But, along my merry journey across the internet I came across these next three that I am most certain you will enjoy. This, literal, " new wave" of music popped up 2009 and is the aforementioned "witch house" of today. I am becoming quite enthralled with the genre. Maybe I should try some experiments of my own.

witch house
Someone came up with a new title for a genre I am not sure what to call anyway other than perhaps " chillwave". It has been deemed "witch house" by some unknown source. It contains some of my more recent discoveries in music, and some of my more favorite artists in general. Ghostly vocals, haunting melodies, and danceable beats. There is nothing better in my opinion. "Creepy" dance music is something I could totally get into .. It's no wonder I already have!

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010
Now as most of you know I am a very big Nightmare on Elm Street fan. I own the series, the plushy, the bobble head, and numerous other toys of the well known movie monster. At first when I heard they were remaking the original I was slightly upset. I still do not know what I really think of the idea, but I am keeping an open mind. Though I am perturbed at the fact Robert Englund is no longer playing the role, I am still willing to give it a chance. It's an entirely new take on the story, and it loses some of it's comical edge. For that I am thankful, for it sticks to Wes Craven's original idea of the character. He was never MEANT to be funny, New Line Cinema added that little twist. Even though the director is having nothing to do with this production and pretty much disowned the franchise, I hope it turns out to be a good remake, like Rob Zombie's Halloween. It comes out April 30th, and that is less than two weeks away!

photo shoot with andrea knight
Leslie and I dressed up as Clowns for the Dance Invasion (birthday) party, and it was tons of fun! Our friend Andrea Knight Photography was there, and we had a spontaneous photo shoot in the bathroom at Uncle Lou's.

photos
These are my favorite pictures I took this weekend. The mannequin just really caught my eye and I couldn't stop looking at it all night. The guy in the goggles is performer Johan Ess, part of the Feathers music conference in Gainesville at the Laboratory. Check him out at myspace.com/johaness and give him a listen! The others in the pictures are Randy Gracia and A Scissors, both which are very good musicians and I highly recommend them to you as well. Especially A Scissors, sounding slightly like m83, but with an electro kick in the pants. He swears too that that is me on the back of the Saturday's = Youth cover but it's not! It's just my doppelganger. Let's hope I never meet her.

Feather's Music Conference
My friend Johan Ess is playing this show and I hope to really be there, but sadly I also work that night. I love Gainesville. There is always something abnormal and delightfully weird going on. The laboratory is a wonderful little venue as well. I like the fact you get to drink beer out of beakers, and there are retro video games to be played. The bathroom is also in fact not a bathroom, but a portal to another dimension; just so you know. The last show I could go to there with Bleepsouth 2 with BgO, Lissajou, Yatagarasu, C-C, etc. Not to mention it was SO MUCH FUN! If you can, go. Maybe I will see you there. :)

eels
The Mighty Boosh is a fairly funny British comedy that consists of an hour long adventure through "time and space". I just happen to particularly like this skit. I need a musically inclined individual on the same wavelength as me to collaborate on music with. I wish my 'twin sister' Trista lived near me, but alas she is all the way in Idaho. D: Her project, Tjam Triforce, was amazing while it existed on the internet. But, I ramble. These two make a good team, and I like their style of comedy. While they play most of the characters on the show themselves, the Hitcher is one of my favorite's. Who can resist an evil cockney wearing a top hat and trench coat? I know I can't. I personally like the lighting effects, and of course the costuming and the makeup really catch my eye. I would be interested in doing that kind of thing freelance, or maybe even as a career if I were given the chance. However, the song itself is just something I like; it reminds me of other things I enjoy listening to on a more regular basis.

Tron
I just saw this at the Theatre in 3D and about had a fit in my seat, whatever that means.
But Alice in Wonderland was not bad at all! Everyone wants to bad mouth Tim Burton about the way he directs things, but he just has his particular style. I, for one, like it. I recommend it to everyone, especially in 3D.

Childhood's End
I just finished reading Childhood's End by the recommendations of a friend. It was a fascinating novel written by Arthur C Clarke which embarks on the strange and unknown; presenting itself to us from outer space. Aliens descend in giant space ships and make it their priority to organize the affairs of man. No one can much complain though, we are doing better now than we would have been without them. Overlord's with horns and leathery wings, they might be associated with the modern day devil from the Bible. What is their real mission, why are they here? Why do they care what happens to man? I am not sure how I would feel to know that my destiny was in the hands of some extraterrestrial being and not up to my free will anymore. They might only want the best, but what would become of humanity if our liberties were taken away? What might evolve, and what technologies may or may not show themselves to us should our very curiosity be stamped out forever. If you enjoy science fiction I would say for you to read this. It is a rather gloomy tale, but still very much enjoyable.
Medievil
This used to be my favorite game, and it was one of the first games I ever played when I received my PSX for Christmas one year. I love it to death, and I wish I had not given my copy away. I plan to get another one though; that and Medievil 2 which I played halfway through on rental.

I want to read this
I Luv Halloween
" Halloween has always been and always will be about one thing...getting the best CANDY. And, some fiendish friends excel at tricks if they don't get the right treats. When these gremlins receive a frickin' apple at their first house of the night, they plan deadly revenge on the offending fruit-favoring old-timer. Join the misadventures of a group of particularly disturbing trick-or-treaters as they go about their macabre business on Halloween night. "
Apparently there were video shorts made too, but I am not sure how good they are. I think that I would prefer to read the "manga" instead; more than 75% of the time they screw up the tv adaptations. That is why I did not like Hellsing, but Hellsing Ultimate is pure genius since it was taken directly from the manga while the first attempt at the anime was not. Though it was written and drawn by Americans, for some reason it is being published by Tokyopop.

AO
I hope he does not get mad at me for posting these, but I really love my friend Scott's artwork. Alien imagery drawn in enticing colors; sometimes the real picture can't be seen unless you are standing under a black light. Twists and turns, and disorganized lines; all come together to create beautifully intriguing and intricate patternisms, blended with the dark and mysterious unknown of an artists mind. What does someone have to be thinking to come up with this kind of stuff? I'm not sure, but I hope that he does not stop anytime soon.

Explorers
I watched the movie Explorers last night for the first time. Somehow I missed out on a LOT of good movies when I was growing up. I almost missed out on video games if it had not been for the two neighbor boys who lived across the street from me back in Georgia and let me play Friday the 13th on their NES. In fact, they introduced me to scary movies, and the F word too come to think of it .. Well, anyway. I must say I love these cheesy science fiction movies with kid stars, much like E.T. or Gremlins was. The 80's was the best time for that kind of stuff. I love the graphics, the animatronics, the costumes. Now it is all computer generated and lacks any real skill but for programming numbers. It was a wonderful story about a boy who has a dream about a circuit board that his scientist friend (mind you these kids are in grade school ) brings to life. This in turn creates some kind of energy that allows them to move to any given point in space or time within its protective field. They wind up building a ship out of an old carnival ride and viola! Of course this information had to come from somewhere. It just happened to be beamed directly into his dreams by extraterrestrials trying to communicate, and who have been studying earth for a very long time via television and radio waves. If you haven't seen it, you should, along with other such classics as Flight of the Navigator and Spaced Invaders, which are now in my download que.

cosmic music
Lately there have been several artists that have caught my attention on this whole Pulp Scifi / Cosmos addiction I have been going through the last few days. I even went and checked out some Lovecraft at the library for good measure, but here are some tracks that I really find almost hypnotic in a way. It makes me want to dress up in something silver and shimmery as I drift among the stars.
